NEW Normally Closed Solenoid Relay Contactor; 12VDC; 150A

Description

These normally closed solenoid / relay / contactor are new and unused. They were purchased for an engineering project that was canceled. The size is approximately 3″X3″X3″. The large contacts are closed (connected) until 12V is applied to the small wires and then the contacts open and remain open until the voltage is remove at which time the contacts close again. The large contacts are rated for HVDC up to150 amps continuous and can handle higher currents for short periods of time. These solenoids  have an “economizer” built in which means that when 12V is applied to the small wires the coil draws about 1.5 amps for only a fraction of a second to open the contacts and then the current draw drops to only about 0.15 amps (150 milliamps) and that is all this is required to hold the contacts open. This is a must-have feature if the contacts are to be held open for a long period of time or if used in a battery powered application. The large contacts are rated for HVDC. Meaning they can switch voltages higher than 12VDC. These were made to be a replacement option for the GigiVac MX11 sealed contactor.
